DONE is better than Perfect...

If you ask any of my clients what my catchphrase would be…they will all probably tell you…"DONE IS BETTER THAN PERFECT! I teach this because I not only believe it, but it is a fact. It's not a thought, it's not an idea or some modern-day concept. Done is better than perfect. The reason I say it is a fact is that perfect does not exist. This means that if you are shooting and striving for perfection you are reaching for something unattainable.

Yet, you would be amazed at the number of people who never start,

never build, and never elevate because they are waiting until the perfect time. They are waiting to perfect their logo. They are waiting to perfect their services. And so the only thing they accomplish is perfecting their excuses. And it is because of this I stay screaming just get it DONE!

Done means complete. Done is an accomplishment. Done means you at least have a template to keep improving upon. Also, when you complete a task or a major step you realize you can do it again and again. In brief, done starts building the momentum necessary for continued elevation. However, before you can complete something you have to first commit. Commitment is not enough because commitment is just step number one.

I'm a Coach, which means I believe, teach, and know the power of practice. Yes, getting things done can and should become a practice, not just in your business but in your life in general. The practice of getting things done means you are always moving forward. It means you rarely let your feelings lead. It means you're focused on progressing versus the soul-sucking drama of perfecting.

Below is a process I teach my clients to help them develop the practice of getting things DONE:

1. Push Past Resistance:

Don't give in to the temptation to quit. Quitting is an easy out when it gets hard. Instead, focus on what's on the other side of what you say you want.

2. Let Go of Insecurities:

Your insecurities are not real. They are simply your ego's way of trying to protect itself. Yet, your ego is also the killer of your growth and development.

3. Get Comfortable with Courage:

Courage is not some superpower some of us have, it's the practice of constantly stepping up to the challenge.

Aiming for perfection is paralyzing because again you are striving for something that doesn't exist. Imagine how hard it is to chase the invisible. Instead, I encourage you to strive for excellence. Excellence is based on your standards, as well as it gives you a way to measure your growth. Excellence has no end because it is a moving target that evolves with you. And most importantly excellence can become a standard that you incorporate into all aspects of your business and life.
