ARE YOU PREPARED TO RECEIVE?

I used to think I was praying for God to bless my business and send me more clients. More clients meant more money, and more money meant I was "succeeding."

Truth: I wasn't praying, I was BEGGING… and God wasn't impressed. I'm pretty sure He covered His ears and rolled His eyes every time I opened my mouth to ask for more. Why? Because instead of BUILDING and PREPARING for what I was begging for, I was sitting and waiting for Him to drop it from the sky like manna. But that's what we do right? We don't pray and prepare. We pray and wait. And while waiting has its place, you have to be READY to receive.

What I learned the VERY hard way was that the prayer always gets answered, but if you are not ready to receive it, you run the risk of losing it. When I did get a rush of clients, I struggled to serve them with excellence because I had no systems in place. I had no processes, and I did not block out the proper time to coach and build their brands to the best of my ability. Did I lose clients? Only by the grace of God, no. However, I did work crazy hours because I was flying by the seat of my pants. Every day was like a 3 ringed circus. I was running from one task to the next without even thinking of how to streamline because I was just trying to keep my head above water.

Again, I learned the hard way. Afterward, I was determined to never be in that situation again. That situation didn't happen to me, I asked for it repeatedly. I realized that "if you ask, you will receive," but you better be PREPARED. I also realized that the more prepared I was, the more efficient, effective, and useful I would be. I could deliver excellence. I could have the space to think creatively. I could move from my instincts instead of impulsive because I was not rushing. I could have time to dig deep into my client's root issues instead of constantly checking the clock because I was over and/or double booked. If I built and prepared the proper systems and processes, then I could receive the blessing and it would come with peace instead of panic. However, this was going to require me to change myself.

I was going to have to:

  1. Get clear on the experience I wanted to deliver.

  2. Research and seek the best tech and platforms to host my content.

  3. Be honest with me about how many clients I could work with at one time, while not sacrificing my personal life.

  4. Be willing to invest in upgrading software, hiring the necessary help, and outlining my delivery strategy.

It wasn't easy. I blocked off an entire month to make sure I had the time to put the moving pieces together, as well as test them.

So I ask you this…Are you praying and asking for something you are not prepared to receive? If you received 5 more clients, could you deliver the required outcomes with the same level of quality? Can you handle an additional 100 orders of your signature product? Do you have your pricing structured for wholesale? Are contracts ready to be signed? Are Onboarding and Offboarding ready to plug and play? No? Then what are you waiting for? You don't have to struggle your way to success. If you sincerely have faith and believe that your prayers will be answered, then you need to get ready! When you get ready, your actions tell God you are done playing, and go ahead send the blessings your way!
