I am and have always been a fan of structure and for years I thought I needed to apologize for this quality. Here’s why? Structure makes confused people uneasy. Structure provides clarity to those who struggle to see. Structure demands attention because it eliminates chaos. Structure sets and maintains boundaries. Structure says this is who I am, this is where I’m going, and this is HOW I’m getting there, you can either join me or simply get out of my way. Structure is bold, defiant, and rebellious, but that’s because structure is mission-focused.
The more I learn, grow, and become comfortable walking in my purpose, the less apologetic I am for my characteristics and qualities. I’m hella systematic and hella proud of it! Systems keep me in alignment. Systems increase my productivity, and systems are the original design of God. Don’t believe me? Stop right now, go read the first chapter of the Bible. The rise and set of the sun (timeline), the plentiful garden (abundance/prosperity), and every fruit contains seeds (potential).
Most people avoid or eliminate strategy because they believe it limits freedom. Yet, freedom is not the void of strategy. Freedom is the ability to think, be, and do freely because you are in alignment with your values, mission-minded, and manifesting your vision. There are tons of messages about “just do it” hustle, crush, hustle, crush, and hustle and crush some more. Yet sorry to burst your bubble but hustling and crushing will never work until you understand your purpose. This is why I teach the strategy of (1) purpose first… (2) do the work… (3) accept abundance and prosperity.

Hustling is the costume of the ego. The ego loves showing up and saying “look how hard I’m working, do you see, can you see, please tell me you see me? I’m hustling my ass off.” A strategy is mild-mannered and can only be found behind the scenes, doesn’t require attention, and is focused on efficiency. Strategy demands dedicated space and time for stillness, planning, and processing. Strategy requires an honest examination of you and your business’ strengths and weaknesses. Here’s the truth: you don’t have unlimited time and money, so it’s foolish to waste one and/or both of them just “doing.” Your time is limited, so invest in thinking…Your money is limited so know how it yields the highest ROI.
“But aren’t I supposed to show up in my business daily?” Yep, but until you are crystal clear on WHY you are showing up, WHO you are talking to, WHAT problem you solve, and HOW you make a difference, you’re just part of the noise. A customized strategic plan transforms your business and brand from noise to niche-specific, from “hustling” to purpose walking, and from people-pleasing to creating a like-minded village. Strategic development allows you to create and build from a place of peace because you you've transitioned from "playing" the guessing game to establishing a process and plan for WINNING the game!

Strategy does not eliminate risk and/or failure. No strategy is guaranteed to work, but it offers a blueprint, a design, a method for your madness, and most importantly a check and balance system for moving forward and continued growth. I’m systematic, but I always leave space and opportunity for God to say… “Kandis do something different.” But I have my strategy in place because it shows God I’m serious…I’ve written the vision, and I trust that He will bless and/or correct it when necessary. I’m a firm believer and teacher of strategy because at the end of the day it gives God something to work with. In other words, I don’t sit, pray and wait, I pray, plan, and put it in God’s hands.
2020 is still new…what’s your strategy for elevation and transformation?
