We are trained, taught, taught, and then trained to do the "safe" thing. However, if the past year has taught us nothing it was that "safe" doesn’t exist. Also, safe usually goes against our instincts, which means we spend or dare I say waste years fighting our spirit, trying to fit into a box that someone else created, and end up struggling to break free and to become who we are destined to be.
I see this all the time with new clients. Usually by the time a client commits to working with me they are in one of two places. First, they are done ignoring the whisper in their spirit and are ready to build a business centered around their purpose. And the second type of new client are those who attempted to build something "safe," and it's not working. Hence, what makes me different from other Business Coaches. Yes, I teach, create, and help implement strategies. However, I'm different because before we even discuss strategy, I focus on vision and core values. Within those two elements, I find the heart of the person, their true desires, and then and only then can we can begin to build a business.
Building a business with a foundation of what you kinda want to do, what you think will make money, or what you've seen others do will not be sustainable. The reason is that you don't, sincerely, wholeheartedly believe in it. Entrepreneurship is hard as hell, and anyone who tells you different is a liar. Entrepreneurship is not about being "bossy," or having the title CEO. Entrepreneurship is about being able to do every job with the same enthusiasm over and over again from the custodian to middle management to tech support to customer service to everything creative. And this is why I teach PURPOSE FIRST because you are building from the heart instead of the mind. The mind gets bored. The mind likes safe. The mind can only make decisions from past experiences, not possibilities. Therefore, building from the mind only is like a 4th of July sparkler…you light it, it sparkles, and then it fizzles out just as quickly.
Yet, building a business that is rooted in your GIFT will allow you to push through difficult seasons, when you may want to quit. See your GIFT is like an endless river of ideas, you will be able to create without struggle, problem solve quickly, and when used correctly, your GIFT will help your transform obstacles into opportunities.
Here's the thing…it's not just about a business. I want my clients and every woman to build the life of her dreams. I want women to understand how to break beyond what they've been taught to believe about a "safe" life, a "right" life, and instead trust and more importantly heed the whisper in their spirit that is pulling them towards their destiny.
Recognizing your destiny isn't taught in school, there are no college credits to earn to achieve it. Ohhhhhh…but when you understand it, believe it, and step foot inside the beginning of it, your entire world changes in an instant. Your perspective shifts from "safe" to purpose, from what you "should do," to what you must do, from being okay simply "existing," to full out LIVING!
