Your Wealth is in Your Values

Ninety percent of my Consultation Calls include the prospect explaining all the "things" they think they need before they can get started or begin elevating their business. I listen to their list and then explain that their belief system is off. I explain that their thinking is misaligned. The reason they are struggling to move forward or make progress is that they are trying to build from the outside when the better strategy is to build from the inside out.

Although this sounds simple, it does not mean it is easy. If it were easy, my consultations wouldn't all sound the same. So let's dive into the why behind the what of learning how to build from the inside.

The first and most important characteristic you must define for yourself will be your Core Values. The reason you must have clarity in this area is that your Core Values are what roots you to your purpose. Core Values are also your seeds of potential and eventually become your Checks and Balance system, not just for your business but also your life.

Core Values are composed of the following:

1. Passions:

Passions are reflections of your desires. They invoke a feeling of immense and deep joy, not to be confused with happiness, as happiness is a temporary feeling.

2. Interests:

Interests are the areas and/or topics that spark curiosity and maintain your attention.

3. Intentions:

Intentions are the why behind the what. Until you can clearly define "your why," your development and growth will continue to be stunted because you lack a solid foundation.

4. Frustrations:

Frustrations are problems, areas of dissatisfaction, and unmet needs. These areas irritate your spirit because you are uniquely designed to offer a solution.

So I encourage you to sit down and make a complete list in each of these categories. As you review the lists you will eventually find a common thread that links them all. Next, determine the one word that summarizes them. Review and revise it again and again until you become crystal clear on what you value.

And here's why…your Core Values will attract your audience, clients/customers, and mentors. They will keep you rooted and in alignment when chaos and confusion enter your life and business. They will increase your confidence and be a guide as you navigate the process of failures and success.

So again, you don't need another "thing" to begin or elevate. You need a clear understanding of WHO you are, WHAT you value, and HOW you will transform it into being of service.
