People are always shocked when they find out that I was a single mother the day I brought my son home from the hospital. They are shocked because they automatically assume that single motherhood, especially from the beginning had to be "harder." They assume that because they are looking at it through the lens with the emphasis on "single," and I always put the emphasis on" mother. "
See, I became a "mother" the day I peed on a stick, not after my son was born. This means I made decisions like a mother. I processed information like a mother. I planned like a mother. And because my emphasis was always on being a mother, not being a "single" mother, I was able to navigate quite smoothly. I also didn't have to "get ready" for motherhood because I was already fully embodying being a mother. And this is the same strategy that has to take place to live and dwell in prosperity.
Before you can achieve and receive prosperity you must first be able to define that version of yourself. The best way to do this is to begin by answering a few questions that will help you see yourself. Grab your journal and answer the following:
1. What does prosperity look like for you?
2. What does prosperity look like for your family?
3. What does prosperity feel like?
4. How do you behave?
5. How do you spend your time when you are prosperous?
6. How do you dress, walk, talk?
7. What kind of people do you hang out with?
8. How do you spend your money?
9. How often do you work?
10, What kind of work do you do?
These may seem like really simple and/or surface questions but the truth is once you can answer these questions, you can begin to become that prosperous person. The reason is that that person already dwells inside of you and will show up once you are truly ready to release her into the world. But you gotta give her the green light to take center stage. The moral of the story, you are gonna have to BE the PROSPEROUS HER NOW so that prosperity knows where to go and how to get to you at this moment.
